In 2009, Animal Balance organized a feasibility assessment in American Samoa and returned to hold MASH campaigns in 2009, 2010 and 2012. Inspired by Animal Balance's MASH clinics, 2 community members created and NGO to focus on humane population reduction; Alofa Mo Meaola ( which means Love for All Animals in Samoan.) Animal Balance continues to work with Alofa Mo Meaola and the Department of Agriculture to conduct MASH clinics, village by village until over 80% of the islands dogs and cats are sterilized. In 2016 Animal Balance returned to American Samoa to bring the TIP program to assist with the management of feral cats on the island. The program was generously funded by Alley Cat Allies.
